Category: FM2013

Well, right after I posted the last updated, thigns started going wrong. We lost 3 matches in a row, but won the last match. One of my important midfielders is also injured, as well as some poor discipline in the team that doesn’t help matters.

Anyway, the table now looks like this.

I’ve made 3 now signings for the defense. They’ll arrived quite soon, and hopefully help a bit.

My singings so far have been quite successful, my new young goolkeeper Adrean ENgdahl is doing quite well for himself,  he had the chance to prove himself during the first few matches.

Just a quick update this time. After the first seven matches, the results are 7-0-0 with a GD of +18. I’ve been using a 4-2-2-2 or 4-2-4  tactic depending on how you look at it. It’s quite offensive to say the least, but fits my players very well.

I just received my first manager of the month award.

The pre-season went really well, except I lost another coach, I now have only one coach remaining from the original staff.

The team has also had a few injuries, including Bala Musa Bajaha: My goolkeeper. I managed to sign a new young goolkeeper but he caught a flew one week before season start, so I’m not sure he’ll be ready to play.

Same goes for Leonidsson, another key player.

I now have a pretty strong squad overall, and think I can do well this season. My reqquirements are to finish in the upper half of the table, and I hope that won’t be a problem.

My squal and tactics looks like this:

It’s now time for the 2013 pre-season and I think my team might be ready to at least try to win this time. The off-season was a mess, cause I lost a few of my coaches as well as my Assistant manager. I had trouble finding decent replacements and now I have a mix of coaches and an Assistant manager that  I don’t think is that great, but he was the only one I could find. All my coaches now seem to disagree on the quality of some of my players. I’m not sure why this is, but a few players show up as 1 star for one coach and 4 stars for another. This includes my goalkeepr as well as some  players that did well last season, including Samuel Mokede.

I’ve only signed one additional player, except for the players I had on loan earlier; Yosif Ayuba. A central midfielder from DJurgården that got released.

I’m also using a young local player Named Christer Lipovac, whom according to some of my coaches is my best or second best striker. I’ll try to judge for myself and try them out in friendlies.

I feel much better about the squad overall this season.

So, I’ve now completed the first season with Karslund and despite some bad luck with injuries the team performed over expectations and finished the season in 3rd place. No promotion, but it looks really well for next season. I also managed to keep all the players I wanted, and tie some of the players I had on loan to the club. The club made a profit this season, so I’m allowed to spend more on wages and transfers next season. I started by buying the two key players I had on loan (Philip Olofsson and Miralem Malic).  I’m astill trying to get the third key player I have on loan tied to the club full time (Simon Leonidsson).

I did beat the local team Rynninge in the last match, it allmost made me feel bad cause now they are on playoffs and might be relegated. Rynninge was the team I played in FM2012.

I got rid of Calle Olsson, and gave a few players free transfers cause I don’t want them anymore.

I’ve renewed the contracts of the players I was worried about loosing, so now everything is fine I hope they’ll perform just as well next season. Kuhi (my top striker) saved a few matches and was the top scorer in the league.

Here are some end of season screenshots.

As you can see in the image above we also had the least goals conceded, so, we’ve been doing really well on the defense as well as on the offense 🙂

Here you can see my current first team squad,, you can see why I really wanted to keep the players I had on loan. Note that this screenshot is taken before I made negotiations to get these players full time.

The board and fans seem to be fairly happy with me as well.

Looks like I played a pretty balanced style, nothing fancy.

The board offered me a contract for another year, so I’ll stay in the club for now. I’m currently looking for a new assistant manager, because my curren one doesn’t want to renew. Hopefully I’ll find a decent one, as well as some additional coaches for the next season.

As you can my team haven’t done that well lately, and we’re now half way through. I’ve been a bit unlucky with injuries and also had my key striker banned for the last match. Hopefully things will improve.

I also hope I get a chance to change my goals to increase my budget.

As you can see, I got off to a fairly good start, well on my way to accomplish my goal for the season (to avoid religation).

The team has been performing well despite some injuries, however I recently discovered something that I should have checked much earlier.

Most of my key players’ contracts will expire after this season.

There is no way I’ll be able to renew most of these players, even though I managed to renew Tengroths’ contract, the older players wants way to much.

Well, I guess that’ll be a problem for next season.

I’ve now played through the friendlies with mixed results.

Early on, in my 2nd or 3rd firendly, one of my key players, and captain (Samuel Mokede) was injured with a broken toe and gone for a few months. The friendlies overall went well, including a 6-4 win (not sure if this is due to the game being beta, but I had no other crazy matches like that). I’ve been using a quite offensive 4-4-2 tactic, that I’ll make available for download when I’ve tweaked it a bit. I managed to pickup a few defenders, central midfielders and a few players for the youth team, all on free transfers or loans.

Here are the players I picked up:

Here’s the team report from my current team,

This is it, next time I’ll cover the first few matches.

I recently picked up FM2013 and while it’s still in beta, it’s close to release now.

I decided to start, like I’ve done with every FM game (I’ve only been playing since FM2011), and pick a team in the lowest division from my home town (Örebro, Sweden). This season I have two teams to chose from in Swedish DIvision 2 SS; Karslund and Rynninge. I ended up picking Karlslund since this is basically where I grew up, and I did quite well with this team in FM 2011.

I’m using a huge database for this, so I can pretty much move to whatever country I want in case I get a good offer. It also gives me a lot of players to scout.

The introduction of the game has changed slightly from previous games.

Now you get a conversation screen with your assistant manager at the beginning, where he asks you what you want the staff to take care of.

Intro conversation

As you can see, I have the game set to Swedish. I used to play the previous games in Swedish and I’ll use it until I have figured out where they’ve moved everything.

I’m missing screenshots from the team report, but I’ll say that this team is lacking in a few places. It seems like I have one good defender (Erik Tengroth), One good central midfielder (Samuel Mokede) and a few decent offensive midfielders and strikers. The goolkeeper is also good.

If one of the key players is injured, I’ll be in big trouble.

I’m also on a very low budget: 10.000 SEK for transfers and 20.000 SEK for wages.

I’ll start by looking for some new defenders as well as one or two midfielders. I’ll try to get a few players on loan if I can.

Next post will cover the pre-season.
